Video showing the Phoenix Fire Department rescuing a 74-year-old hiker went viral because the basket she was in started to rapidly rotate. See the video below.
"Sometimes when we bring the helicopter up from the ground, [the basket] will start to spin," said Paul Apolinar, chief pilot of the police department's aviation unit. "We have a line attached to the basket that's supposed to prevent that. Today it didn't."
The crew tried to raise and lower the basket in an effort to make it stop.
After a minute of spinning the basket was brought alongside the helicopter, which landed at an ambulance.
