Meals on Wheels San Diego County is honored to be selected as the charity beneficiary at Tacos ¡Libertad! for the month of August.
Located in Hillcrest, Tacos ¡Libertad! is San Diego’s first not-for-profit- taco shop. Proceeds from the month-long campaign will help provide nutritious meals and a daily wellness check for San Diego’s homebound and isolated senior population.
Tacos ¡Libertad! showcases an exciting lineup of globally-inspired tacos prepared ‘a la brasa,' a Latin method of cooking over coal to produce a rich charred flavor. Offerings range from shrimp, skirt steak and pork belly to duck confit and octopus.
They donate 100% of profits to local charities. Profits constitute the money made after operating expenses, and the Cohn Restaurant Group guarantees a $3,000 minimum donation to each charity of the month, regardless of the venue’s monthly earnings.
