Dear Coe,I know you get a lot of requests and I thank you for your time right off the bat. I wanted to bring to your attention the life of a remarkable San Diegan who recently left us far too soon. Jason Mellor was an OB/ Point Loma native, 36 years old, who had been heroically battling cancer for years. Despite his medical trials he remained a beacon of positivity, enhancing the lives and spirits of any person he touched. His kindness and “joi de vivre “ was a trademark of his that was only magnified when faced with illness. He loved baseball, fishing, his friends and family. He will always be remembered as a truly dynamic individual. Jason’s family fought alongside him, supporting and loving him- at times having to put their own lives on hold to focus on his battle. I know he would want to make sure his friends supported them after he left. Because of this a fund has been started to help his family with the incurred expenses.
