A 22-year-old California woman who wrongly accused a black teenager of stealing her phone in a New York hotel has been charged.
Miya Ponsetto was caught on camera physically assaulting 14-year-old Keyon Harrold Jr. — son of Grammy-winning jazz trumpeter Keyon Harrold — on December 26. The incident occurred in the lobby of Arlo, a hotel in Manhattan’s Soho neighborhood.
New York city police say Miya is charged with 2 counts of attempted assault, attempted robbery, grand larceny and endangering the welfare of a child.
