Bovines Block Bungling Burglars in Barron

A 13-mile police chase in Barron County, Wisconsin came to an abrupt end Tuesday when officers received some unexpected assistance from a group of locals.

The suspect, who had led pursuing officers from Barron to Cumberland, attempted to give them the slip by turning onto a farm, according to the Barron County Sheriff's Office. There, he came face-to-face with a large group of cattle -- which refused to budge. "We would be remiss if we didn't thank the Barron County Bovine Unit for jumping into the fray when the vehicle came into their patrol area," reads a post of the sheriff's Facebook page.

The driver was taken into custody, per the sheriff's office. No cows were hurt in the incident.
