Coyote Rescued After Getting Lodged in Front Grill of Car

A coyote that was crossing the street in San Marcos on Tuesday was hit by a car so hard that it became lodged in the front grill -- yet, believe it or not, the animal escaped without injuries.

Rescuers from the San Diego Humane Society were called to the scene to extract a "dog" from the grill -- and were shocked to discover it was actually a coyote, according to a Humane Society rep. They managed to remove the animal and brought it to the Ramona Wildlife Center, where x-rays showed it suffered no broken bones in the collision, the rep says.

Nevertheless, Wildlife Center officials say they're going to keep the coyote for "a few days" for observation before officials release it back into the wild.
