A big buzzing headline this morning is this question: Did the most famous selfie ever, the Oscars 2014 with Ellen DeGeneres & a ton of celebrities, curse most of their careers?! Because BAD THINGS have happened to most of the people in the photo ever since.
Here's a list of the CARNAGE:
1. Ellen: Called out in a 2020 article for a toxic work environment on her show. The allegations only grew from there, and she ended the show in 2022.
2. Kevin Spacey: Kevin was fired from "House of Cards" in 2017, due to sexual assault allegations. He's still never been convicted of anything, but his career hasn't recovered.
3. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Filed for divorce in 2016, and boy did it get ugly. In fact, it's STILL pretty ugly.
4. Meryl Streep: Last year, it was revealed that she had separated from her husband Don Gummer in 2017 . . . after almost 40 years together.
5. Bradley Cooper: He was nominated for an Oscar that night, and didn't win. He's lost SEVEN more Oscars since. He's nominated for THREE this year for "Maestro", so we'll see if he can break this curse.
6. Jared Leto: Since the selfie, he's played the most universally-hated Joker in "Suicide Squad", and had lackluster movies ever since.
7. Julia Roberts: Where did she go after 2014? Seems like her career disappeared
The remaining people in the selfie . . . Jennifer Lawrence, Channing Tatum, Lupita Nyong'o, and her brother Peter. . . seem to be doing okay. For now. But we’d be a bit paranoid if we were them!
