Cops Find Marijuana Growing In Wyoming City's Flower Pots

Workers from the parks department in the City of Powell, Wyoming were shocked to find marijuana plants growing in flower pots in the downtown area. The workers were watering and weeding the plants when they noticed a plant that did not belong with the marigolds and zinnias.

According to the Powell Tribune, workers found the first plant on June 29 and immediately called the police. Since the first discovery, cops have found two more plants scattered amongst the decorative planters that line the downtown area of the small city.

The Billings Gazette reported that this isn't the first time this has happened in the downtown area.

“We’ve had incidents in the past where, for some unknown reason, people decide to put pot seeds in the downtown — we have these large 100-gallon flower pots — and for some reason people like to put weed seeds in the flower pots,” City Parks and Recreation Superintendent Del Barton said.

He explained that plants were able to flourish this year because the marigolds and zinnias grew faster than usual and covered the growth of the marijuana plants.
