Military Spouses....listen up...this is for YOU on Thursday.

Recently, President Trump signed a bill to provide expanded federal job opportunities to military spouses. This new bill is part of an executive action being taken to promote military spouse hiring across the federal government, and the nation at large.

According to a recently released report from the Council of Economic Advisers, “American military spouses, who number approximately 690,000, are a diverse population. Like their active duty husbands and wives, they come from varying racial and ethnic backgrounds, and bring a diversity of skills to the labor market. But military spouses face a particular challenge: they often find their labor market activities, including choices over whether to work, how many hours, and in what occupation, to be subject to the geographic and temporal constraints imposed by their active duty spouse.”

This Thursday, August 2nd, DAV and RecruitMilitary are providing San Diego-area military spouses and veterans the opportunity to explore new career opportunities at the San Diego Veterans Job Fair at the Scottish Rite Event Center from 11am to 3pm. The event will feature nearly 70 exhibitors looking to fill hundreds of job openings – with military spouses and transitioning military personnel as two of their top hiring targets.

As we look toward this week’s hiring event, I’d like to offer you an opportunity to interview Adam O’Toole, event director and U.S. Army veteran, who can discuss how RecruitMilitary’s veteran job fairs are supporting the military spouse and veteran community in the San Diego area. Please contact me to arrange a time to speak with Adam and I will be happy to coordinate details.

Thanks for your consideration.
