Queen Is Performing At The Oscars With Adam Lambert

Queen fans, rejoice! The legendary rockers are set to perform at this year's Academy Awards with vocalist Adam Lambert. The band, American Idol alum, and The Academy all tweeted the news on Monday (February 18), each using spot-on puns in their announcements.

"We will rock The Oscars" Lambert wrote with a sly-faced emoji accompaniment.

"Queen + @adamlambert will ROCK YOU!" the band tweeted, along with two feet and a clap emoji.

The Academy took a different approach and used "Bohemian Rhapsody" lyrics to break the news. "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?" they tweeted before announcing the performance.

Check out all three announcements below.

The performance makes perfect sense, considering 2018's Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody is up for multiple Oscars this year, including Best Picture. Rami Malek, who plays the late Queen frontman in the movie, is also nominated for Best Actor In A Leading Role. Last month, the film took home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture — Drama, and Malek won the award for Best Actor In A Motion Picture — Drama.

Find out if Bohemian Rhapsody wins big again when the Oscars air (without a host) on February 24 at 8pm EST/5pm PST.
