San Diego PRIDE Week 2020

San Diego PRIDE week has gone virtual in 2020, and here are all the ways that you can experience it!

Saturday, July 11:

  • She Fest | 10:30 am - 3:30pm

She Fest kicks off San Diego’s Pride Week virtually with live music, games and activities, workshops, vendors, and community connections.In 2020, we’ve gone virtual — while retaining everything that makes She Fest so special!  You can watch the LIVE STREAM here!

She Fest is a woman-centered event that celebrates and supports the talents and contributions of women while fostering meaningful connections within and between the LGBTQ+ and larger San Diego communities.

Tuesday, July 14:

  • Kinky POC Panel | 7pm

Come enjoy a discussion surrounding the experiences that POC have in the San Diego Kink Community. More information here.

Wednesday, July 15:

  • Light Up the Cathedral - An Interfaith Pride Celebration | 7 - 8pm

Join interfaith leaders, elected officials, and San Diego’s LGBTQ community at this official San Diego Pride 2020 virtual event. To celebrate Pride Week, we will honor our LGBTQ interfaith community and witness virtually the Cathedral’s annual ceremonial rainbow lighting. More info.

Thursday, July 16:

  • Songbook, A Virtual Cabaret | 7 - 8pm

Hosted by the San Diego Women’s Chorus, San Diego Pride is thrilled to share our first ever virtual cabaret, premiering LIVE on YouTube on July 16th at 7pm PDT, as part of San Diego Pride week. Watch it here.

The event features individual and small acts performed by SDWC members from the safety of their own homes. Viewers will have the chance to experience songs, spoken word, dance, comedy, and poetry that provides a glimpse into our members’ lives- our struggles, triumphs, history, and loves.

Friday, July 17:

  • Spirit of Stonewall Rally | 6 - 7pm

The origins of the global Pride movement can trace their roots to the Stonewall riots of 1969, an uprising against police brutality that has spread around the world. Over 1,000 Pride events have been identified across the globe, each one taking on a local flair. In San Diego, we launch Pride weekend by honoring those beginnings with the Spirit of Stonewall Rally where we celebrate the accomplishments of those at the forefront of our movement and recommit to the work that lies ahead. Saturday, July 18:

  • Virtual Pride 5K Run & Walk | 8am - 5pm

In consideration of the health and safety of participants, volunteers, and community the annual Pride 5K Run/Walk will be virtual this year! You choose your own 5K route, your own starting time, and your own pace. Show your PRIDE by taking a few photos along the way – share with your friends, your fans, and our community.

  • Pride Live 2020 | 10am - 6pm

On what would normally be Pride Parade and Festival Day, July 18, 2020, we will bring you our first-ever PRIDE LIVE: TOGETHER WE RISE. During the course of this day-long event, you will experience the full day of Pride, from Parade all the way through the Festival. Sunday, July 19

  • Globe PRIDE | 2 - 4:30pm

The celebration will feature live-streamed performances of short plays by LGBTQ+ playwrights Shairi Engle, Jaime Estepa, Katherine Harroff, and Miki Vale during the San Diego Virtual Pride Festival on July 19 performed by professional actors as well as featured select participants from Diversionary Theater’s Teen Virtual Summer Acting Program.
