A 20-year-old Indiana woman has been missing for three weeks since she vanished in San Diego under mysterious circumstances.

According to FOX5, Lateche Norris traveled from Indiana to San Diego to meet with her boyfriend and enjoy San Diego's beaches.

But shortly after arriving in the city on November 5, she called her mother in distress from a stranger's phone.

Her mother Cheryl Walker, said Norris told her she had been in a heated argument with her boyfriend the night before. She didn't tell her mother why she didn't have her own phone but said she would call her back.

Walker never heard back from her daughter and alerted the San Diego Police Department on November 10 and police opened a missing person case.

While SDPD does not consider Norris to be "at-risk" her family and friends disagree.

For example, Norris is typically active on social media but her accounts have been quiet since November 5, the day she disappeared.

“All of this is uncharacteristic. If Lateche ever says ‘I’m going to call you back,’ she calls back. It’s been three weeks now,” Whitney Sich, founder of the nonprofit, A Voice For The Voiceless told FOX5. “There are no signs of life of her anywhere.”

My daughter is just as important as Gabby Petito,” Walker wrote in a Facebook post. “As if what happened to that sweet girl wasn’t heartbreaking enough.”

Anyone with information on Norris' whereabouts is encouraged to email findlateche@gmail.com or contact the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2446.
