A Normal Heights pizzeria is on the brink of shutting down due to rising inflation and staffing shortages.
The owner of Venice Pizza House on El Cajon Boulevard, Joe Lo Medico, says the restaurant has been the family business for over 68 years, since the days his father-in-law ran the place.
He says the higher costs of food and recent staffing shortages have pushed them to the edge of closing down, after his son told him they may have to go out of business.
Joe Lo said he would try to keep things going after rehiring an old employee to help.
The restaurant will now be open for the next few months, in hopes of finding more workers to meet demand.
