Firefighters Prevent Brush Fire From Reaching Homes

Firefighters stopped the forward spread of the #CampoFire after it broke out just before 1pm on Wednesday.

It was a threat to homes for a while along Avenida Roberta and Calle Los Arboles and CAL FIRE had told residents to evacuate if they felt threatened. By shortly after 2 p.m. Cal Fire reported that the forward spread of the fire had been stopped. The fire burned 15 acres and there were no reports of structures damaged.

Cal Fire officials urged everyone to be extra careful and to avoid doing anything that could accidentally spark a fire. With heavy Santa Ana winds sweeping through the region, fire containment is a bigger challenge and threat.

Earlier in the day, CAL FIRE dealt with the motorhome fire that ignited the vegetation West of Japatul Valley Road on I-8 West. The fire burned a quarter of an acre, but was swiftly contained and the area has been cleared.
