Black History Month

We're celebrating Black History Month by shouting out some of our favorite sons and daughters throughout the month of February.

'Black Panther' Premiere Beautifully Honored African Royalty -- See Photos!

The Black Panther premiere in Hollywood on Monday (Jan. 29) night had everyone showing up in their best, most festive, most traditional African-inspired looks.

The actors and actresses who portray characters in the film hit the premiere's red carpet and all eyes were on them. From Chadwick Boseman -- who plays the superhero, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Michael B. Jordan, and more; everyone looked absolutely incredible. We're still recovering from seeing some of these looks for the first time!

"We found out there was a purple carpet after we had chosen the dress, but it was kind of a perfect reason to go with the gown; I think it’s a new addition to the Lupita rainbow!" Nyong'o's stylist Micaela Erlanger told The Hollywood Reporter. "There’s definitely a nod to her warrior character Nakia here, without being costumey. It’s a really glamorous take on our vision and it’s very fierce, certainly."

Let's take a look at some stars on the Black Panther's red carpet at the Hollywood premiere below.

Not only was the fashion on the red carpet lit, but so is the movie! Fans who already watched Black Panther last night immediately went on social media to talk about how amazing the project was. "BLACK PANTHER SURPASSED STAR WARS. With gratitude, awe, respect and invigoration," recording artist Jill Scott tweeted. See that and other reactions below.

Black Panther has already made history for selling the most advanced tickets in one day than any other Marvel movie ever. Many are also already calling the film the best Marvel movie of all time. Here's to it making even more history in the coming days and weeks!
