Quite the supergroup after the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach! As former GnR drummer Matt Sorum told us on KGB, he would combine Billy Idol, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and Billy Duffy (The Cult) with Chester Bennington (Lincoln Park) and the DeLeo brothers (STP) to produce fireworks, which they did. The sold out crowd flipped out, and so did I.
You'll see a picture of Matt and me below, but pay attention to the one of Chester and my wife Carrie. Toward the end of the show, she heads backstage to use the ladies room. I remain in the audience and Matt begins thanking the individual member of the band. When he gets to Chester...no Chester. 2 minutes later, he finally gets on stage. I come to find out later...he wasn't there because he was exiting the men's room as Carrie left the ladies room. He would not end the conversation, I hear. Hitting on a fine woman, Mr. Bennington. LOL
