The San Diego County Sheriff's office says a man was arrested after deputies found two people dead inside a Ramona home Monday night.
Deputies responded at shortly after 8:30 p.m. to a report of an assault with a firearm in the 600 block of 11th Street.
The Sheriff's office says deputies detained a man outside the home before entering and finding a man and woman suffering from traumatic injuries. Both victims succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The victims' identities were withheld pending family notification.
The man detained at the scene was identified as Ryan Proffitt, 33, of Escondido. He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of murder and booked into San Diego Central Jail, according to the sheriff's office.
