Terrorist Attack Leaves Four People Dead In London

Four People Are Dead Including A Police Officer In A London Attack

Four people have died, including a police officer and one man believed to be the attacker, police said. At least 20 other people were injured in the attack, some with “catastrophic” wounds. The alleged assailant drove a car into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before crashing it and then trying to enter the complex, armed with a knife. He was shot by armed police inside the security cordon of the Houses of Parliament. Police currently believe there was only one attacker, but have locked down the area around Westminster and are searching the area.

Scotland Yard Says Attack On Parliament A "Terrorist Incident"

Police say they're treating today's shooting outside of London's Parliament building as a terror incident.  Scotland Yard says today's attack on Parliament and the Westminister Bridge in London is "a terrorist incident until we know otherwise."

Mark Rowley with London Metro police said 4 people died in the attack. They include one police officer and the man who's believed to have been an attacker. He added that 20 people were injured.

Rowley said that only one attacker was involved in the attack. He explained that the attack started when a car started running over people on the Westminster Bridge. The car then crashed near Parliament, and the attacker exited the vehicle and attempted to enter the building. He then stabbed a police officer, who died of wounds. The attacker was then shot by police.

UK Prime Minister Theresa May is safe after the attack. The White House says Trump has been briefed by members of his national security team.
