The sixth annual San Diego Animal Support Foundation Santa Paws MEGA Adoption Event is headed to La Mesa this weekend.
The popular animal adoption event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, along the inner corridors of Grossmont Center.
“The San Diego Animal Support Foundation believes that every animal deserves a miracle this holiday season,” said Sherry Gilbert, a volunteer with the San Diego Animal Support Foundation. “Our Santa Paws Mega Adoption Event at Grossmont Center is the perfect place to make this miracle happen with dozens of rescues and shelters bringing hundreds of adoptable animals.”
Hundreds of adoptable pets from about two dozen animal shelters and nonprofit rescue agencies will be available. Participating organizations include:
- Amazing Strays Rescue
- Baja Animal Sanctuary
- Chula Vista Animal Shelter
- Friends of Cats, Inc.
- Labradors and Friends Dog Rescue
- Last Chance at Life All Breed Rescue and Adoptions
- San Diego Parrot Education & Adoption Center
- Passion for Pitties Rescue group
- Volunteers for Indigent Vulnerable Animals’
- Woofs and Wags Dog Rescue (formerly St. Pacos Second Chance Dog Rescue)
San Diego Animal Support Foundation organizes several mega adoption events every year in hopes of increasing adoptions from reputable shelters and rescue agencies. It works with Grossmont Center to bring potential adopters and lots of dogs together in one fun, happy, stress-free environment, facilitating the matchmaking process, said Darlene White, spokeswoman for the foundation.
