Immediately after the 1st quarter the entire stadium including the players from BOTH USC and the University of Iowa waved to the Rady Children's Hospital section at the San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl. Yes, the game was played and congratulations to the University of Iowa for winning, but the moment was when everyone in the stadium waved. This is a tradition at the Hawkeye home games when everyone waves to the patients at Iowa's children's hospital that is right above the stadium. The tradition was brought to San Diego for the Holiday Bowl. 400 seats were for patients and family from Rady Children's Hospital. Check out the wave. Thumbnail photo by Andrew Hougan.
