It was 50 years ago today, Paul McCartney told them all to have a nice day. Now on the anniversary of the Fab Four's split, a rare photograph of the young rockers in their pre-Beatles group has emerged.
Taken in 1959, the previously unseen black and white print shows John Lennon, McCartney, and George Harrison jamming out as The Quarrymen.
"Four years from here they'd have attained the inconceivable level of fame and popularity that joyously maintains to this day - out from this Liverpool room and across the universe," noted Beatles' historian and author Mark Lewisohn.
