A new San Diego bakery and market is taking fresh bread to another level.

Wildwood Flour Bread in Pacific Beach will be centered around a custom mill where it will grind fresh flour for its variety of bread and other baked goods.

According to Eater San Diego, the co-owners are San Diego natives and UC Berkeley graduates, Noah Orloff and Lauren Silver.

The two are banking on a Kickstarter campaign to help them complete construction on a 1,700-square-foot space on Garnet Avenue that will serve as a production hub and a small grocery store with local produce and pantry items.

Orloff previously ran a bakery in Valley Center and continued honing his bread-baking skills at Companion Bakeshop in Santa Cruz.

He returned to San Diego to start Wilwood Flour, which is a cottage food operation that has been supplying sourdough bread to local businesses like El Pescador and the Pannikin in La Jolla for the past three years, according to Eater.

Silver said they also plan to grind flour to order for people who want to bake their bread at home.

Wildwood Flour Bread is expected to open its doors in March.
