A group trying to end any bans on rent control in California is now gathering signatures to try and qualify for the November 2024 election.
Those supporting the "Justice For Renters Act" must gather nearly 550,000 signatures.
The group is trying to ask voters to remove the statewide ban on rent control in California, even though some parts of the state still allow it.
If the measure qualifies for the ballot and is passed by voters, local jurisdictions would be able to put rent control in place.
