Ian Choudri, the CEO of the California High Speed Rail Authority, has been arrested on suspicion of domestic battery.
Police in Folsom, near Sacramento, arrested the 57 year old earlier this month.
TV station KCRA reports the Sacramento District Attorney's Office has declined to file charges. Choudri was never asked to appear in court, and the DA says the matter is over.
The incident occurred one day after Choudri appeared with Governor Gavin Newsom to celebrate the completion of the Southern Railhead facility in Kern County.
