Adopt Nicole A Greyhound Mix | Clint's Furry Friend Finder

Nicole is a greyhound mix, estimated to be three or four years old, residing at the Greyhound Adoption Center in El Cajon.

She arrived on December 26 with a puppy named Urban and yes, they were named for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban! These dogs were on the brink of death when found. Left by a backyard breeder in below 30-degree weather, outside on concrete with no shelter, Nicole was so emaciated they didn't know if she'd even make it. Fortunately, she was nursed back to health and is now ready for adoption. GAC is a rescue group dedicated not only to the ex-racing greyhound, but also fully committed to the greyhound mixes that may come from backyard breeders or from shelters. Dogs like Nicole are also referred to as Lurchers and are generally bred to hunt. GAC has accepted and placed hundreds of these exploited dogs over the last 30 years. Nicole cannot live in a home with cats, but she adores children of all ages and is small dog and other breed friendly. She is a happy, playful girl and will make an excellent companion for a busy family!

All dogs from the Greyhound Adoption Center have a complete medical evaluation, are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and undergo a thorough dental cleaning. They are then fully evaluated for temperament and personality as well as tested with cats, small dogs, and young children before being profiled for a home.

Please come out and meet Nicole and her 45 companions on Sunday, August 20, 2017, when the Greyhound Adoption Center hosts an Open House and tour of their facility from 1:00 - 3:00 PM. Tours may also be arranged by appointment.
