Daredevil attempts to jump a rocket-assisted Lincoln over the St. Lawrence river in Canada.
In 1976, stuntman Kenny Powers attempted the "Super Jump" that would be the longest car jump in history. His goal was to jump a river that was one mile wide. An eight and a half story ramp was constructed for his rocket powered Lincoln Continental. The jump had been planned for over four years and over a million dollars was spent. Powers' car was projected to reach a speed of 280 miles per hour and his body would undergo a force of over 30 Gs. The jump had been cancelled four times before.
Does anyone remember this? He sure didn't get very far...
