Man Embarks On 7,000-Mile Bike Trip To Help Sex Trafficking Victims

Richie Wolfe began a 7,000 mile fund raising journey bike ride across America on April 1st.... no joke!

Volunteer Richie Wolfe will crisscross America on a bicycle. The 7,000-mile trek began on April 1st, 2017 in Escondido, California.

Wolfe’s five-month Journey Towards Hope ride is a fundraiser for Restoration House which is a faith based, long-term, residential program for survivors of sex trafficking.

Richie Wolfe will travel alone during the day and camp out most nights.

“I will average about 50 to 70 miles per day and I will take one day off per week,” he said. He trained for more than a year to prepare.

The plan is to complete the route in San Francisco by late September.

He hopes to raise $10,000 on behalf of Restoration House.

The 26-year-old man has mapped out a route that will take him along most of the perimeter of the United States.

From Richie Wolfe's Facebook the day before his journey:

"So tomorrow morning I start my big adventure... I want to dedicate my ride to the KC skaters before me who went out on a limb and sought after bike adventures. This ride goes out to Jake Temple and Jon Craig, you guys rule! Also to all the homies who have biked out to hermanns hole! Thank you Kansas City for all your support in my film making efforts and in this bike ride. I feel very loved and and privileged to be apart of such a great community I also have to shout out to all my California homies who have put my up out here in San Diego and supported me. I can't wait to share my journey with you all and cross the finish line when I get back home"
