Local sanctuary Wild Wonders needs your help to recover from Lilac wildfire

Hi friends...I wanted to remind you that not only people are victims of the wildfire...but animals and great foundations are impacted as well. Listener Carol let me know that "Wild Wonders" sanctuary need help to recover from the epic wildfire.  Here is a portion of their plea on their site...

"Wild Wonders and the Lilac Fire

Living through the terrible firestorms in California in 2003 and 2007, we were on high alert when we heard the weather reports of upcoming Santa Ana weather conditions.  Two days before the Lilac fire broke out on December 7, we began prepping for a potential evacuation.  When the decision was made to leave that Thursday, it took 2-1/2 hours to get all of the animals off the property.

Most of the animals (and the staff) spent the next 4-5 days in a warehouse in Vista.  Temporary homes for the big cats are being provided by Project Survival Cat Haven in central California, and the smaller cats at the Orange County Zoo.

On Monday we began moving the animals back to Wild Wonders, and except for the cats, all of the animals are now back on site.  The cats will be back next week.

Half of Wild Wonders’ property was burned, but no structures were lost, which is unbelievable particularly if you saw any live television coverage.  This is what we saw on news coverage on Thursday night.  It is a photo of the house that is directly across the street from Wild Wonders on Villa Montellano...."

Please read more and please think of the animals this holiday.
