Universal is the studio that finally locked down the rights to the Bon Jovi Biopic (because everyone needs one now), although no dates have been set yet.
No director has been lined up and no casting decisions have been made, but the movie will focus on the years leading up to when they hit big on the charts in the 80’s, starting from their early beginning’s to, Slippery When Wet.
Unlike other bands Bon Jovi’s history is a bit interesting in that Jon had a song and demos for an album, before he put the band together, but if done right, this will be the first major film release of a Hair Metal band’s story since Motley Crue’s “The Dirt”, which came out on Netflix. Def Leppard got a VH1 biopic, back in the 90s, but Bon Jovi’s looks to be a big screen production set to be a major release.
