Australian boxer Ebanie Bridges not only lost her bloody bantamweight championship bout Saturday night — she was left with a brutal black eye.
Bridges walked out of the ring with her left eye massively swollen after 10 rounds of being pounded by British fighter Shannon Courtenay, a report in the Mirror said.
But the Aussie never backed down.
“I couldn’t see for the last three rounds,” she told iFL TV, the Mirror said. “But I was like, ‘please don’t ask me if I can see, because I’m not f—ing quitting. I don’t quit.’ “
“Hats off to Shannon, she can punch, she can fight,” she said. “It was a great fight for me. First fight in the UK and I’ll be back.”
Courtenay, meanwhile, was ecstatic.
“My jab popped her eye and that was where and when I boxed best,” she said.
