As if cleaning up the debris from a multi-vehicle accident wasn't difficult enough, authorities in Illinois on Tuesday were also tasked with capturing dozens of cattle that flooded the highway.
The cattle catastrophe occurred on Interstate 80 in Joliet after a semi collided with a tractor-trailer that was transporting dozens of cows, police say. Although several animals died in the crash, countless others managed to survive -- and left the scene of the accident to roam the highway, creating chaos for drivers.
As of early Tuesday evening, officers were still on the scene, where they were attempting to corral the last of the cattle, police say.
